Yes you read that right…outdoor weddings are absolutely possible!! So, now you know that juicy little secret, I’m going to reveal to you my top 5 outdoor wedding venues in North Wales!
#1 National Trust Bodnant Gardens – Conwy
There are so many jaw dropping locations within these gardens that would create the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable wedding ceremony! This is a photo of Bodnant Garden’s famous laburnum arch which is at its peak around May, as you can see it just oozes romance! The thing I love most about this location is, it doesn’t matter what time of year you plan your outdoor ceremony here there will always be so many stunning options. Sweeping landscapes, beautiful views of Snowdonia and unbelievable colours all year round – what’s not to love?!
#2 Bron Eifion Country House Hotel – Criccieth
Mary and her amazing team ensure a perfect wedding experience for all of their couples and I absolutely adore performing ceremonies here! Bron Eifion is a stunning venue set in beautiful, sweeping, landscaped grounds which offer the perfect setting for both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies. There are so many beautiful places to enjoy your outdoor ceremony but the most popular (for good reason) is the picturesque gondola on the lawn. I fell in love with this place the second I set foot there and I know you will too!
#3 Tower Hill Barns – Llangollen
Come on, just look at this and tell me its not adorable??? Tower Hill Barns have so many areas that are perfect for a wedding ceremony setup up but this is my absolute favourite place to perform an intimate ceremony with as much personality as this venue! The smaller space is absolutely perfect for the current covid-19 restrictions regarding guest numbers – you won’t feel as though you’re rattling around in a big empty space! I adore how quirky Tower Hill Barns is and it is absolutely perfect for couples looking for a rustic venue full of character.
#4 Portmeirion – Gwynnedd
Portmeirion is a tourist attraction in Gwynedd and has been the backdrop for hundreds of fairy-tale weddings, you only need to look at their photos to see why! Have you ever seen a more picturesque village? It boasts hundreds of perfect ceremony spots and though it does have a number of indoor locations for marriage proceedings, most couples choose to hire a celebrant (like me!) so they can enjoy their ceremony outdoors, who can blame them when there’s just sooooo much pretty!!!
#5 Gwrych Castle – Abergele
Now known as the home of ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2020’, Gwrych Castle has seen a huge facelift in the last few years by a charity trust dedicated to restore this stunning location to its original glory. The sweeping lawns make a perfect location for a marquee wedding reception after you’ve exchanged your vows within the castle walls, how romantic right? Most of us girls dream of growing up, finding a prince and being swept off to his castle (thanks Disney!) but now that fairy-tale really can come true – and trust me, as a girl living near a LOT of castles, I know a STUNNING castle when I see one!
